Designing and Planning Cities and Communities to be Great Places for Animals

As the largest creation of humankind, cities and towns have immeasurable impact on animals.  To many, our cities are designed for cars, oil companies and other large corporations. In the news lately, there is much talk about new communities and urban redevelopment that is good for the earth - which is an improvement to be sure...  But as usual, the animals are an afterthought. The world population continues to grow and if we don't start designing for animals too, they will continue to be harmed in all the ways that we at this conference have come to advocate for/about.
