The trade in exotic animals is a multi-billion dollar global business. The illegal trade in endangered wildlife is now second only to drugs and guns simply because it’s safer. The laws for illegal wildlife trading are weak and the penalties are a joke. Animals are traded for food, medicines, ornaments, and pets. And the trade is driving many species to the brink of extinction.
