In addition to the full AR2020 program, there are many options for pre - and post-conference events for you to consider! If you've got the time, it's a great opportunity to extend your vacation to spend more time in vegan-friendly Portland with fellow animal rights activists.

Pre-Conference Activities: Wednesday, July 15 & early Thursday, July 16

We are currently planning vegan tours around Portland to give out-of-towners the opportunity to explore some of the city's best vegan restaurants and shops with other conference attendees. It's a fun way to explore the city and make new friendships during your conference experience.

With Tofurky headquarters about an hour away, we are also working on tours of their beautiful facilities to get the inside scoop on one of our favorite vegan businesses.

Additionally, supporting groups are planning training events and/or meet-ups prior to the conference.

Stay tuned for more information and details about pre-conference activities... coming soon!

Post-Conference Vivisection Protest: Monday, July 20 at 10:00am

Stop Animal Exploitation NOW! (SAEN) is organizing a massive protest on Monday, July 20 from 10am - 12:30pm in addition to travel time. This historic protest will be held at the Oregon National Primate Research Center at 505 NW 185th Ave, Beaverton OR 97006, just 15 miles from the Hyatt Regency hotel. The airport is only a 35 minutes drive from the primate center if you need to fly out directly after the protest.

With so many activists in the area for the conference, SAEN is hoping to make this the largest U.S. anti-vivisection demo of the 21st century. With plans to attract media attention, SAEN’s goal is to get activists from as many U.S. states and other countries as possible in attendance to speak out for animals in labs.

SAEN will coordinate travel to and from the Hyatt.
