Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and our priority of keeping attendees safe, the in-person Animal Rights 2020 National Conference scheduled for July 16-19 in Portland, OR has been canceled.

In continuing to keep our movement connected and inspired, we are pleased to invite you to join us for an exciting virtual Animal Rights 2020 National Conference which will take place on the same dates. The AR2020 virtual conference will feature approximately 50 speakers, interactive sessions, virtual exhibits, opportunities for meet-ups, one-on-one chats, and so much more. Please view refund options for the in-person event here or below. If you booked a hotel room, your reservation will be automatically canceled and you will be notified. Emphasizing the importance of staying connected during these challenging times, AR2020 will incorporate these exciting features and more:

Whether you’re new to the issues or a longtime activist, AR2020 will keep you inspired, engaged, and connected.

We strive to make the Animal Rights National Conference accessible, affordable, and welcoming to all. Standard registration is $50 for the full event but we offer discounted rates and full scholarships to reduce financial barriers.

We offer several options:

  •  Register for our virtual event and receive a partial refund. The virtual event fee is $50 and we will refund the remainder.

  • Donate the full (or partial) cost of your registration for a tax-deduction to help us offset our losses.

  • Request a full refund with no cancellation fee.

In any case, please email with your name, Eventbrite confirmation number and which refund option you would like.

If you are an exhibitor or sponsor, we also offer a full refund or you can register to be an exhibitor or sponsor for our virtual event and receive a partial refund.

The Hyatt will automatically cancel your reservation(s) and will notify you.

We understand that many of you have already scheduled your travel for this year’s conference so we want to make sure you know there are options for not losing these funds. Airlines have enacted policies to enable customers to reschedule, cancel or change flights without penalties. You may receive a refund or travel credit for rebooking with the airline. Most airlines have these policies listed on their websites so we encourage you to check in with the airline you had booked with.
We’re excited to bring you an inspiring event to keep the movement connected. The AR2020 virtual event will begin on the evening of Friday, July 17 and end on the evening of Sunday, July 19. We are striving to plan as many interactive workshops and panels as possible to keep you engaged and connected. Registration for the AR2020 virtual event will open on Wednesday, May 20. As usual, we strive to keep registration affordable and accessible to all. Standard registration for the virtual event is $50 however we are offering sliding scale options for those who are experiencing financial difficulties.
Yes! The platform we are working with offers a virtual exhibit area which allows sponsors and exhibitors to feature a short video as well as have a representative available during certain hours to chat one-on-one with attendees. We will be encouraging attendees to visit the virtual exhibit areas throughout the event. For more information visit our exhibitor page or sponsor page.
At this time, we are working with multiple venues for our 2021 location and dates. We will announce when we finalize details.
We will likely open registration this fall.
While donations are always appreciated to help us in keeping the conference affordable and accessible, we invite you to help support the conference even if you are unable to make a financial contribution.
